Last Weekend in Munich (Saturday)

On Saturday morning, Kevin and I met up with Ricky and Andrew and headed to the Deutsches Museum, which is a very expansive museum featuring advancements in science and technology throughout the ages. We had a really fun time, but this place was huge!!! We could have easily spent two or more days exploring all the different exhibits. After a few hours, we had only visited a fraction of the rooms we were interested in, but we decided to move on and see more of Munich.

This is exactly my life in Silvia's lab!! I was so excited to see this and it was
probably the best exhibit there! But then again, I might be biased...
Me inside a huge model of a cell!  I am so happy :)
This is proof that science has taken over my life...

We took a quick detour through Marienplatz to show Ricky and Andrew all of the churches and famous buildings and monuments there, and then walked through the Hofgarten where we found this beautiful building.  I have no idea what it is, but here is a picture of it... At one time, it must have been something important (maybe it still is...).
Pretty unknown building in the Hofgarten

Naturally, we were hungry so I wanted to take everyone to the biergarten in Englischer Garten :).  It is called Chinesischer Turm and is famous for its pagoda thing.. but we were more excited about finding the BEER BIKE!!!!
Famous landmark in Englischer Garten
This is probably the coolest thing ever and it is the embodiment of Munich,
beer + bicycles = BEER BIKE. It is a bar where everyone pedals while they
drink and I guess the person in the back steers.

After that, we headed to the Hofbrauhaus. This was my third time there, but the atmosphere of the beer hall is so unique and it is always a good time.  I mean where else can you be in a room full of drunk people and listening to music, chanting along to the famous cheers, and banging on tables whenever you want?? At the Hofbrauhaus, this is the norm. My favorite beer (also the only beer I can tolerate) is wheat beer (Weiss Beer).  We had a really good night and this was a great way to close out my Munich experience.  It is really sad how fast those two weeks flew by.  I guess I stayed busy by constantly running all over the city with my new friends and it was an experience I will never forget!!!
